With the advancement in technology, man’s free time has been occupied. This all-time business has gripped him in a way that does not allow him to enjoy leisurely moments. The result is various physical, emotional, and psychological problems. Stress is one of these problems. Most of us complain about it. But working women might be the most affected of all. American Psychologist Jennifer Haythornthwaite says, “Stress happens when there’s an imbalance between the demands of a situation and a person’s resources for managing it.”
Work-life balance, discriminative behavior, and all-time-keeping busy technology are the main factors creating stress for working women. Now come to some easy ways to relieve work stress.
Have good sleep
Good sleep is as important for life as healthy food is. Sleep boosts mood and helps us to deal with daily challenges more effectively. But, unfortunately, we do not attach much importance to it. We cannot afford to ignore this factor. How much sleep is necessary for health? Let’s know in the words of a well-known American psychologist, Jennifer Haythornthwaite who says, “the health effects of sleep are unbelievable. As a society, we haven’t given it enough priority”.
Do stay happy!
Purpose in life gives us satisfaction and happiness. A purpose, you can say, is a strong desire to get anything. Why don’t you let the acquisition of maximum happiness be your purpose? Select doing anything as a hobby and do it regularly. As it has been termed by a psychologist, “Having purpose and meaning in your life is key to job satisfaction.” Job satisfaction might be one of the basics of happiness. The more satisfied you are, the more happiness you get.
You and your reference group!
The reference group is the people that constitute your immediate social network. The more caring and considerate your social network, the more stress-free you are. It is up to you how do you make your reference group a stress buffer. Because it is a good social network that boosts health and longevity, the elements needed to acquire a balanced life. “Your group doesn’t have to be large, as long as it supports your sense of connection and shared experience. Friendship and connectedness are “critical to being able to cope with stressors.” Haythornthwaite says.
For married working women balance between work and domestic life is essential. So, spare some time every week to make a schedule to balance both sides of life.
Mind your own business
Don’s stuff your mind with the things unconcerned. You are supposed to perform your duties in an organized way. What others are doing is not your concern. Remember, to poke your nose in others’ matters is also one of the stressors. If you want to stay away from stress, avoid this stressor. Another important thing in this regard is the policy of leg-pulling, which is present in almost every office, public or private. It is altogether a negative and repulsive activity. And, you know, negativity is too a stressor. So, avoid it and stay happy.
Take regular exercise
Incorporate regular spurts of movement into your day, particularly if you spend most of your time sitting behind a desk. The exercise doesn’t need to be vigorous. Even short daytime walks are helpful. Use a fitness tracker or app on your phone to track your progress.
